La cervecera Heineken informó este miércoles que hará un recorte de 20 por ciento de su personal a nivel mundial en 2021 como parte de su estructura operativa para afrontar la pandemia del COVID-19.
“Optimizaremos nuestra oficina central y oficinas regionales con una reducción esperada de alrededor de 20 por ciento en los costos de personal relacionados. La implementación comenzará en el primer trimestre de 2021”, indicó la empresa en su reporte financiero del tercer trimestre.
Agregó que el impacto y los plazos de la reestructuración en las operaciones locales variarán según las circunstancias específicas de cada empresa operativa.
“Nuestros esfuerzos de revisión estratégica actuales se centran en dar forma a la empresa para que emerja más fuerte de la crisis del COVID-19. Estamos explorando cómo acelerar y expandir nuestras fuentes de crecimiento mientras simplificamos y dimensionamos correctamente nuestra base de costos”, refirió la empresa.
De julio a septiembre, Heineken reportó una caída de 1.9 por ciento anual en el volumen de venta de cerveza global, con 62.9 millones de hectolitros, mientras que con productos restantes como sidras y otros consiguió un repunte de 7.1 por ciento anual, con un total de 11.9 por ciento anual.
«Nuestro desempeño durante el tercer trimestre siguió viéndose afectado por la crisis del COVID-19. Como muchos confinamientos disminuyeron, nuestros volúmenes mejoraron en comparación con el último trimestre. Continuamos con estrictas acciones de mitigación de costos mientras equilibramos las inversiones detrás de nuestras marcas y futuras oportunidades de crecimiento”, dijo en el documento Dolf van den Brink, director general de la empresa.
El sólido resultado en mercados como Brasil, Nigeria y Estados Unidos fue opacado por la prohibición de venta de bebidas alcohólicas en Sudáfrica y en algunas partes de México.
“En México , el volumen de cerveza se redujo en un dígito medio debido a las leyes secas, particularmente en el sureste, y el desabastecimiento causado por las restricciones en las operaciones de elaboración de cerveza al comienzo del trimestre”, detalló la empresa.
