Paliza responde a críticas sobre los 100 millones a artistas urbanos

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana. – El ministro administrativo de la Presidencia, José Ignacio Paliza, se expresó con respecto a las críticas que recibió el anuncio del gobierno, de que pagaría 100 millones de pesos por adelantado, correspondientes a cinco presentaciones, a un listado de 77 artistas nacionales.

“Tradicionalmente los artistas dominicanos han recibido de los gobiernos contrataciones para fiestas populares. Ustedes saben que se hacen todos los años. Este año no hay fiestas populares, barriales, puesto que la pandemia lo prohíbe. También tienen ocho meses sin desarrollarse a la dimensión que tienen”, respondió el ministro frente a cuestionamientos de los periodistas en el Palacio nacional.

Paliza especificó que se trata de contratos que se cumplirán a futuro, mientras la pandemia lo permita, no de un regalo a la clase artística urbana y tradicional. El hecho fue cuestionado por artistas externos al canto y la música, que también pertenecen al entramado cultural nacional y no han sido tomados en cuenta por el gobierno.

Uno de ellos fue el director, actor, productor y escritor Waddys Jáquez, que en un video que publicó en la red social Instagram, protestó la exclusión de actores, bailarines, teatristas y demás integrantes de las disciplinas artísticas nacionales de las actividades e iniciativas gubernamentales.

“100 Millones de Silencio. Pan y Circo. Estamos a tiempo de no repetir la historia”, dice Jáquez en la descripción del video, que se titula “Más Respeto”.
