Hospitales apoyan plan de DIGESETT para prevenir accidentes de tránsito

Los hospitales traumatológicos Ney Arias Lora, Darío Contreras y Profesor Juan Bosch apoyan el plan de concientización y prevención de accidentes de tránsito que ha comenzado a ejecutar la Dirección General de Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (DIGESETT).

El director general de la DIGESETT, General de Brigada Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, P.N., anunció que su prioridad es ejecutar un plan de prevención de accidentes, en el que participen distintas entidades del Estado y del sector privado.

Guzmán Peralta expresó que su motivación a trabajar en una campaña de prevención de accidentes es que en las estadísticas de la DIGESETT diariamente mueren cinco, seis, siete y más personas en accidentes de tránsito.

A esos fines, sostuvo un encuentro con el director del Hospital Traumatológico Ney Arias Lora, doctor Julio Landrón, quien explicó que República Dominicana es una de las naciones con un alto índice de personas muertas en accidentes de tránsito. Agregó que además de los muertos, un elevado número de los accidentados queda con lesiones permanentes.

Julio Landrón informó que los hospitales traumatológicos Ney Arias Lora, Darío Contreras y Profesor Juan Bosch apoyan el plan que ejecuta el director de la DIGESETT para prevenir accidentes en todo el país. “Entre los tres hospitales, conjuntamente con usted, general. Usted nos dice que tenemos que hacer, y vamos a caminar de la mano”, expresó el director del Hospital Traumatológico Ney Arias Lora.

Al recibir el apoyo de los hospitales, el general de brigada agradeció la colaboración y explicó que la prevención de los accidentes de tránsito no es únicamente una tarea de la DIGESETT, sino de todo el país, creando conciencia en toda la población.

Asimismo, sugirió que hay que comenzar crear conciencia en los niños, en las escuelas primarias, donde se incluya una materia denominada “educación vial”; y citó que los más afectados por los accidentes son las motocicletas.

Agregó que pese a la elevada cantidad de personas circulando en motocicletas, muchos de sus conductores no conocen muy bien las señales de tránsito y que por esto es necesaria la materia de educación vial, para que entiendan cuáles son sus derechos y deberes.

Indicó que hay que organizar a los motoconchistas, creando una campaña educativa que haga énfasis en el aprendizaje de las señales de tránsito, tener su licencia de conducir y usar su casco protector.

Acuerdo:

El general Guzmán Peralta y el director del Ney Arias Lora acordaron que la unidad médica de la DIGESETT trabaje conjuntamente con este hospital traumatológico para asistir a los agentes que les ocurra algún accidente de tránsito.

Del mismo modo, se analizará y realizará un levantamiento para ver si se amerita establecer en el hospital una unidad de la Dirección de Procedimiento de Accidentes de Tránsito para levantar las actas cuando ocurren los accidentes y lleguen al centro médico.
