Ministro Obras Públicas anuncia reparación de la autopista Duarte desde Santiago a la Capital

Santo Domingo, RD. – El ministro de Obras Públicas, Deligne Ascención, anunció que en los próximos días iniciarán los trabajos para la reparación y ampliación de la autopista Duarte, desde el kilómetro 9 del Distrito Nacional hasta la entrada de Santiago de los Caballeros, en interés de mitigar los efectos de los accidentes de tránsito que ocurren en esa importante vía y evitar pérdida de vidas humanas.

Dijo que la disposición es un compromiso del Presidente Luis Abinader, preocupado por la alta incidencia de accidentes de tránsito que ocurren en dicha vía, con las consecuentes pérdidas de vidas y daños materiales que esto ocasiona.

Adelantó que Obras Públicas ha creado una comisión de alto nivel, la cual debe presentar dentro de los próximos 30 días, una propuesta de rediseño geométrico, de señalización e iluminación que pueda mitigar los efectos de los accidentes de tránsito que allí ocurren.

Esta comisión está coordinada por el ingeniero Onéximo González e integrada, además, por los ingenieros Nelson Colón y Rafael Medos, Viceministro de Infraestructura Vial y asesor del ministro, respectivamente.

Expresó que el MOPC está conminando a la empresa que realiza trabajos en dicha autopista, para que les dé continuidad y los pueda concluir en el menor tiempo posible.

Adelantó que el tramo a intervenir incluye desde el Kilómetro 9, en el Gran Santo Domingo hasta la entrada de la ciudad de Santiago, y que los trabajos a realizar abarcan: la eliminación de los cruces ilegales, ampliación de los carriles donde sea requerido, dotar de iluminación los tramos que así lo amerite, construir carriles de retorno e instalar nuevos pasos peatonales, entre otros aspectos necesarios.

Ascención dio instrucciones para que se continúe con la pavimentación de la autopista Duarte y que se terminen esos trabajos en el menor tiempo posible, para que se pueda mitigar los efectos de los constantes accidentes.

Dispone vigilancia permanente en todo el trayecto

“Al mismo tiempo, estoy disponiendo que la Comisión Militar y Policial, adscrita al MOPC, disponga de un patrullaje permanente en la autopista Duarte, que en coordinación con la Digesset pueda prevenir y alertar a los conductores que por allí transitan para el respeto y el apego a las leyes, y el desplazamiento lo hagan con moderación”, indicó.

Dijo que en su condición de presidente del Consejo de Dirección del Instituto Nacional de Tránsito Terrestre (Intrant), “estamos disponiendo que las unidades militares responsables de resguardar nuestras carreteras refuercen también su presencia en la autopista Duarte”.

“Que la Comipol pueda prevenir a los conductores para que adopten las medidas de lugar, y que el Intrant refuerce su presencia en esa importante autopista”, observó.

Sobre el particular, explicó que es responsabilidad de todos, específicamente los aspectos de reingeniería y rediseño del MOPC, pero que también corresponde a los ciudadanos que por allí transitan hacerlo con la debida moderación y precaución.
