El Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (Indotel) y la Superintendencia de Bancos (SIB) firmaron un convenio en el cual se comprometen a salvaguardar los derechos de los usuarios de servicios bancarios ante llamadas excesivas para cobros de deudas y ofertas de servicios.
El convenio fue firmado por el presidente de Indotel, Nelson Arroyo, y el superintendente de bancos, Alejandro Fernández, en la sede de la institución bancaria.
En el acuerdo, las partes se comprometieron a establecer los mecanismos necesarios para realizar un intercambio de información, relacionada con las estadísticas de las denuncias, quejas y reclamaciones formuladas por los usuarios de los servicios públicos de telecomunicaciones en contra de entidades de intermediación financiera.
Además, de elaborar o modificar las normas, reglamentos, circulares o instructivos pertinentes, dentro de sus respectivas competencias, para establecer los parámetros necesarios para gestionar los ficheros contentivos de los datos personales de los usuarios de productos y servicios de entidades de intermediación financiera.
Durante la firma del convenio la directora ejecutiva de Indotel, Julissa Cruz, manifestó que esta es una oportunidad para que ambas instituciones trabajen en conjunto ya que ambos sectores deben ir de la mano con el fin de proteger a los usuarios bancarios.
“Para nosotros es un placer que desde este momento nosotros podamos caminar juntos y que este sea un camino productivo para el bien de los usuarios de los servicios públicos de telecomunicaciones y los servicios bancarios”, expresó.
Por su parte, Fernández dijo que la institución se solidariza con la problemática del usuario de los servicios bancarios ya que, según dijo, desde antes de su gestión le ha inquietado por lo que es un honor trabajar con el Indotel.
