La Asociación de Bares y Restaurantes de la Zona Colonial mostró su desacuerdo con las medidas impuestas por el gobierno dominicano, y las clasificó como un «duro golpe» para dichos negocios.

«Este ha sido un golpe fuerte para el sector de bares y restaurantes. Ya nosotros veníamos adecuándonos a un nuevo horario en el que no estábamos acostumbrados a laborar. Nueva vez, se toman decisiones sin el consenso de los sectores afectados. Si se siguen tomando disposiciones de esta manera, los bares y restaurantes van a desaparecer», dijo la presidenta de la asociación, Grey Heyaine.

Manifestó que más de 50 restaurantes han tenido que cerrar definitivamente debido las restricciones impuestas por el gobierno.

Citó que es muy posible que más establecimientos cierren y que miles de empleados se queden sin trabajo a causa de la «insostenible» estado que atraviesa el sector.

Finalizó diciendo que se le comunicará al gobierno acerca de la situación, a fin de ver cómo podrán sobrevivir los negocios con estas nuevas medidas.
