Indotel convoca organismos estatales para transformación digital

El Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (Indotel), convocó a entidades estatales vinculadas al desarrollo tecnológico en la República Dominicana, con miras a dar seguimiento a la estrategia digital del gobierno del presidente Luis Abinader.

El encuentro, que marca el inicio de una mesa de trabajo con el objetivo principal de alcanzar una transformación digital real en el país, fue encabezado por el presidente del Indotel, Nelson Arroyo y la directora ejecutiva Julissa Cruz.

La reunión contó con la participación de Amparo Arango, directora del Fondo de Desarrollo de las Telecomunicaciones; José David Montilla, viceministro de Agenda Digital del Ministerio de la Presidencia; Eliezer Rodríguez, viceministro de Innovación y Tecnología del Ministerio de Administración Pública (MAP).

Asimismo, Pedro Quezada, director de la Oficina Presidencial de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (OPTIC) y Martín Robles, administrador de la Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica Dominicana (ETED) y José Ovalles, director de Fibra Óptica de la ETED.

En ese escenario, Nelson Arroyo consideró que el momento actual demanda aunar y dirigir esfuerzos en una sola dirección por parte de todos los sectores que tienen competencias en el ámbito de las telecomunicaciones, con la finalidad de mejorar la calidad de vida de los dominicanos.

“Tenemos retos y desafíos de cara al próximo año escolar, y planes a corto mediano y largo plazo para lograr una mejor conectividad en el país y un acceso de calidad”, manifestó el presidente del Indotel durante el encuentro.

Precisó que el presidente Luis Abinader ha establecido como uno de los ejes principales de su administración lograr la conectividad en las escuelas y todo el país.

Añadió que las políticas de los organismos participantes en la mesa de trabajo deben estar enfocados en ese sentido.

De su lado, la directora ejecutiva del Indotel, Julissa Cruz, explicó que el objetivo de la convocatoria es la creación de una mesa de trabajo permanente para alcanzar la implementación de una agenda digital que contribuya al desarrollo económico y social de la nación.

Se acordó que las sesiones estratégicas de los actores participantes se realizarán cada 15 días y antes, en momentos que así lo ameriten.
